With employees focusing their safety efforts through OEMS continuous improvement, the Tulsa Refinery achieved its best safety record in history with an OSHA Recordable Rate of 0.44 for 2005. This represents a 49% reduction in the recordable injury rate from the previous year, (0.86 in 2004). Contract employees had an outstanding safety performance as well, completing the year with no OSHA recordable injuries for a 0.00 rate.
Two other milestones were also accomplished in 2005. As of June 19th, 1 million hours were worked without a Lost Time Injury and as of July 15th, Tulsa went one year without a Lost Time Injury.
