Priority Risk Reviews and Risk Control Assessment
Sunoco implemented a web-based system in 2006 to manage the on-going evaluation of products, process streams and purchased materials for specific risk factors and control measures in the Refining & Supply (R&S) business unit. Since that time, R&S has completed over 500 risk reviews.
In 2008, R&S personnel and members of the Product Stewardship Forum collaborated to incorporate the risk review process into the existing electronic Chemical Approval Process (CAPNET). This streamlined the risk review process and ensured that a risk review was initiated with each new chemical material brought into an R&S facility.
Also in 2008, this risk review process was implemented in both the Chemicals’ and Branded Marketing business units.
