Sunoco takes seriously its corporate responsibility in matters concerning the environmental impact of its operations. Numerous programs, procedures, and a variety of equipment are used to maintain and improve our environmental performance. Examples of these in 2007 are:

Philadelphia Refinery FCCU ProjectSunoco’s largest project ever was completed at the Philadelphia Refinery’s 1232 Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit
Recognizing Earth DaySunoco facilities joined in the 37th celebration of Earth Day on April 22, 2007 through various different events and methods, including:
Reducing Air EmissionsIn 2007, the Philadelphia Refinery began utilizing a portable thermal oxidizer to control emissions
Refinery Efforts to Minimize WasteSunoco’s five refineries address waste minimization efforts through a Joint Waste Minimization Team.
Stack Testing Seminar and LDAR WorkshopSunoco is committed to helping its qualified and experienced environmental professionals stay current by providing training and workshops
Toledo ProjectsDuring 2005, Sunoco reached an agreement with the U. S. EPA to implement improvement projects at four refineries, including the Toledo Refinery.
