In 2006, Sunoco reduced the number of Wastewater Permit Exceedances (5.8%), and Class 1 and 2 spills (20.0%). However, a large increase in Air Permit Exceedances occurred due to a regulatory change. Comparing 2006 to 2005 on an equal basis, Air Permit Exceedances increased (38.2%).

Performance for categories where 2005 is the latest data available also showed improvement in Greenhouse Gas emissions (0.2% compared with 2005 and 9.9% lower than 1990), while increases occurred in Criteria Air Pollutant emissions (3.2%) and Toxic Waste Transfers Offsite (19.5%).
