Incident Reporting & Investigating Sunoco implemented an upgrade of its safety and environmental database during 2008. Marketing used this opportunity to introduce a new incident investigation and root cause analysis method for the entire Marketing business unit, including Transportation, Retail Stores, Home Heating Oil, and Technical Services. Multiple training sessions were held for managers and supervisors.
Using this analysis method has streamlined the process, consolidated the data into one system, and improved communications. This is particularly true for the Retail Stores where the Central Monitoring Facility now handles the First Reports of incidents for more than 500 convenience stores. |
