European Regulation of Chemicals 
Sunoco is actively addressing the European Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) legislation.  REACH affects all supply chain companies marketing chemicals or products containing chemicals that are manufactured, imported, used as intermediates, or sold in the EU. Registration for chemicals and substances began in 2008 and then chemicals will be evaluated for a wide range of health and safety endpoints, whether physical, chemical, or biological.

Sunoco has pre-registered products with the newly created European Chemicals Agency and developed business process standards to facilitate REACH compliance.  Sunoco is now focused on identification, analysis and interpretation of information required to complete registration dossiers.  Communication with customers and suppliers on product use and potential exposures scenarios is in progress.  REACH specific questions can be addressed to REACH@sunocoinc.com.
