Eagle Point Refinery

The Eagle Point Refinery was acquired by Sunoco in 2004. This newest member of Sunoco’s Northeast Refining family has a capacity to refine and process about 150,000 barrels per day of sweet crude oil. Supporting the refinery is product storage capacity of approximately 10 million barrels.

Of its 500 employees, the majority are involved with refining and processing of crude oils to produce a variety of products ranging from gasoline to petrochemicals. The 1,100 acre tree-lined site also contains a 225 megawatt combined cycle Co-generation Power Facility which has commercially operated since May of 1991. Power generated at the facility is sold to Public Service Electric and Gas and to the Eagle Point Refinery. The Eagle Point Refinery is located in the Township of West Deptford, as well as the Borough of Westville, New Jersey. Its location along the Delaware River provides easy access for ocean-going and coastal oil tankers, barges and tugs, which can dock at the refinery’s four berths. The Eagle Point Refinery makes up one-third of Sunoco’s Northeast Refining division. The close proximity of the facility to Marcus Hook and Philadelphia enables the three facilities to take advantage of operational economies.

The refinery produces 3.8 million gallons of gasoline per day - enough to fill 252,000 cars daily and 605,000 gallons of home heating oil per day – enough to heat 86,400 homes daily.
