The Sunoco Chemicals business unit continued its process safety improvement efforts by focusing on closing previously identified gaps and enhancing its mechanical integrity processes. Formal meetings were conducted to assist the plants with setting priorities and getting full benefit of their Mechanical Integrity Continuous Improvement Programs (MICIP).
Key objectives for 2006 include:
- Standardizing the mechanical integrity efforts across Chemicals through the efforts of the Fixed Equipment Inspection Committee (FEIC),
- Holding formal meetings to assess the Mechanical Integrity Programs at the plants and help expedite the gap closure process; and
- Conducting periodic plant audits to track the progress of the MICIP.
