Assisting With Training
Sunoco’s Pittsburgh Technology & Commercial Center (TCC) continued many years of interaction with the Bidwell Training Center, a non-profit, post-secondary career and academic training institute. Bidwell was established in 1968 to provide training opportunities to all people regardless of race, religion, ancestry or national origin. Currently Bidwell is the only one-year, State Accredited granting program in the U.S.

The Center originally focused on construction trades, but has evolved into a unique learning environment that serves the needs of the community and provides educational opportunities to anyone who aspires to further their education and enhance their opportunities for employment.

Sunoco has been involved with Bidwell's Chemical Laboratory Technician (CLT) Program since its origin in the early 90s. The CLT is an intensive, one-year course that prepares students for entry-level jobs in the chemical industry. CLT students receive mentoring from Sunoco employees and have internship opportunities with Sunoco. Additionally, Bidwell students and staff attend biannual seminars at tours and at the Pittsburgh TCC facility.
